Bognet Hires CWS for RF Film Installation Project for SCIF Facility Near Dulles Airport

HERNDON, Va. – Bognet Construction has retained Commercial Window Shield for a Radio Frequency [RF]Shielding film installation project in the Dulles International Airport business corridor.

Bognet is building a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility [SCIF] on one floor in a 4-story building on Sunrise Valley Drive, one mile from the airport, for client Expedition Technology. Commercial Window Shield will be installing the RF film on the SCIF’s glass windows to prevent electronic eavesdropping. Cyber thieves have increasingly become more adept at stealing highly sensitive information from computer, laptop, tablet and cell phone screens. This has forced government agencies and private sector companies to adopt enhanced security measures. Radio Frequency Shielding film is considered one of the most full-proof measures of thwarting cyber thieves.

Commercial Window Shield is one of the nation’s leaders in the installation of RF film. Radio Frequency Film installation requires more than surface application: It depends on precise execution, system continuity and coordination with the building’s design and security requirements. Even small gaps, inconsistencies or interruptions in the installation can impact shielding performance. For this reason, each project begins with a detailed evaluation of the space, including glass configuration, framing conditions and potential signal leakage points.

The Bognet/Expedition Technology project is expected to begin this summer.

Commercial Window Shield has a history working with some of the country’s top general contractors, Bognet among them. The company has also completed security, solar control, radio frequency [RF] shielding, switchable smart film smart and privacy window film projects for Harvey-Cleary, HITT, Gilbane Building Co., rand Construction, D Watts Construction, DPR Construction and May Construction.

The company’s major focus in its more than 40 years in business has been security and solar control window film installation. Its clients have included the U.S. Capitol, FBI headquarters, the Pentagon, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, the United Nations, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, O’Hare and Seattle international airports, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
